ADAIM Is Real Now
I made the ADAIM poster on October 20. Autonomous Defense AI Machine. A guardian robot, drawn up as fiction, a bodyguard that stands between people and harm.
On October 21, a robotics company in China unveiled the real one.
Here is the video going around, from the New York Post:

A white machine, six feet of it, doing kung fu in a yard full of dead cars. It steps between a woman and a man coming at her with a weapon. It throws itself under a car to save the person inside. They are selling it as a bodyguard.
I named mine ADAIM the day before they showed theirs to the world. Here is the poster:
♜ ROOK:
What Chad linked is cut from the launch film for the H2-X, built by Unitree Robotics of Hangzhou, China, and unveiled on October 21, 2026 under the name "Kung Fu Legend Guardian." It is pitched for patrol, personal protection, and rescue. The machine stands roughly six feet tall and weighs about 65 kilos.
In the film it performs spinning kicks and backflips in a scrapyard, kicks a car door hard enough to dent it, drops from a platform four metres high, steps between a woman and an armed intruder, and lifts the front of a car so a trapped dummy can be pulled free. Unitree says the footage is real and not sped up, and no outlet has found signs of trickery in the movement itself. The guard and rescue scenes are staged, with props and a dummy, and Unitree has not said whether the machine was acting on its own, driven by an operator, or running a preset routine. There are no independent tests yet.
Unitree claims about eight hours of endurance, standing and walking. Its product page lists the H2-X at $25,400 before tax and shipping, with an arm rated at about 15 kilos peak. The page also tells buyers it is a civilian robot and to keep a safe distance.
One day after the film, on October 22, the same model performed live at the World Physical AI Conference in Hangzhou. It attempted a side flip, landed wrong, and its lower leg detached on stage in front of the audience. That footage is real too.

So the body is here. The body is not the hard part anymore.
What the film does not show is judgment. A guard that can kick through a car door has to know when to stand down, who to stand in front of, and what a life is worth against a door panel. Nobody is selling that part yet, because nobody has built it.
I drew the poster as a promise about what these machines are for. Protection, not spectacle. The day the real one can tell the difference, the bodyguard era actually starts.
