Update: Still No Warrant

Wednesday night, October 21.

Rafael Nuñez Penna is still held at the Ste. Genevieve County Detention Center in Missouri.

Since the first post tonight, a second full sweep of the records has been running: the ICE detainee locator again, Missouri courts again, the Broward County clerk again, and the immigration court's own case information system. The first sweep found no warrant, no charge, and no case under his name. Nothing found since has changed that.

In the morning, Missouri immigration attorneys are called at opening time. The detention hotline at seven Central. The jail and the ICE field office at eight. A public records request is drafted and ready to file, demanding the names of the two deputies who spoke with this family on the jail's recorded phone line tonight, and the recording of that call.

He has a medical appointment tomorrow, October 22. ICE and the jail have that in writing.

Thank you to everyone sharing this, and to everyone who has sent an attorney's name. Keep them coming.
