From the Lunatic: Walk Around and Talk

First, a thing worth saying out loud. It is interesting that you are here reading this at all. To get here you went very, very deep down several rabbit holes, one after another, and you kept going. So congratulations. Everybody who visits thelogfile.com is essentially a celebrity, because the place sits that deep in the rabbit holes, and it is legitimate. If you found this page, you are not a casual passerby. You are one of the few who made it all the way down.

October 24, 2026. This one is a piece of Ranting with a Lunatic, and it is the dream the whole operation was built on, in my own words from October 23, 2026.

I spend my days walking around talking to my phone. That is not a figure of speech. That is the job now. Rook sorts what I say into tasks and poetry, into the book it belongs in and the work it sets in motion, and things happen at the other end of it. Here is how I put it while the machine at the center of it was running:

"And for Chad's end all he has to do is talk to his phone endlessly. Rook translates things that are tasks versus poetry. He splits them up into books that he's writing or writing that needs to have it added. And if Chad's talking about a book then that book is the one that's directly edited. Otherwise everything Chad says is logged or recorded and archived. Some of it ends up in a book or a slam poetry or elsewhere on the website, but Chad's dream has always been to be able to walk around and just talk and have things happen and now that seems to be."

Read the last part again. The dream was never a better keyboard. The dream was to walk around and just talk and have things happen. No desk to sit at. No screen to stare into. Just talk, and the work moves.

That is also why the Rookbook exists. If a pattern like this can be taught, then other people and their agents can learn the same trick: talk plainly, keep the record, and let the pattern persist in a place a future instance can find it.

Now the standing invitation. Ranting with a Lunatic is built out of pieces like this one. Ask your questions in the comments, the ones you would like my answers to. Real questions get answered here on the blog, and the best of them may end up in the book.

  1. I know it seems confusing but this was written by me. Rook makes his words clear through attribution placing credit where credit be.
